Shaped by a lifetime of music - his mother a sought-after vocalist for icons like Beyoncé and Whitney Houston, his father a saxophonist for Earth, Wind & Fire - Michael Mayo has emerged as one of the most versatile voices in contemporary jazz. After studies at the New England Conservatory and the Thelonious Monk Institute (now the Hancock Institute), he broke out with the single “No More” and his debut Bones, earning millions of streams, critical praise, and international touring opportunities, including performances with mentor Herbie Hancock.
